Completing Your Onboarding
A guide for new starters on how to work through your onboarding tasks and get ready for your first day
This guide is for new starters who have received a job offer through assureOS. It explains how to accept your offer, set up your account, and complete all of the onboarding tasks assigned to you.
Before you begin
You will need:
- Access to the email address (or phone number) your job offer was sent to
- A device with a modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox)
- Any documents your employer has asked you to provide (for example, proof of identity, right-to-work documents, or bank details)
Step 1: Accept your job offer
You will receive an email or text message from assureOS containing a link to your job offer.
- Click the link in the message.
- If you are a new user, you will be asked to set a password for your account. Choose a strong password and click Continue.
- If you already have an assureOS account, you will be asked to sign in with your existing email and password.
After signing in, you will see the details of your job offer. Review them and accept the offer to continue.
Step 2: Complete the first-contact steps
Before you can begin your onboarding tasks, you need to complete a short set-up process:
2a. Consent
Review and agree to the data processing terms. This confirms how your personal information will be handled.
2b. Profile
Enter your basic details, including your full name, address, and nationality. Make sure everything is accurate, as this information will be used throughout your employment.
2c. Phone verification
Enter your UK mobile number. You will receive a verification code by text message. Enter the code on screen to confirm your number.
Once these steps are complete, you will be taken to your onboarding task list.
Step 3: Work through your onboarding tasks
Your task list shows everything you need to complete before you are fully onboarded. Each task is listed with a clear name and description. A progress bar at the top of the page shows how far through the process you are.
How to complete a task
- Find the next task in your list. Tasks that are ready for you to start will show a Start or Continue button.
- Click the button to open the task.
- Follow the instructions on screen. Depending on the task, you may need to fill in a form, upload a document, acknowledge a policy, or sign a contract.
- When you are finished, submit the task. You will be returned to your task list.
- Move on to the next task and repeat until all tasks are complete.
Types of tasks you may encounter
| Task type | What you need to do |
|---|---|
| Form | Fill in the required fields and submit. Some forms can be saved as a draft if you need to come back later. |
| Document upload | Upload a file from your device, such as a photo of your passport or a scanned certificate. |
| Acknowledgement | Read the information provided (for example, a company policy) and confirm that you understand and accept it. |
| Contract signing | Review your employment contract and sign it electronically. |
| Reference collection | Provide the contact details for your referees. Once submitted, the system will contact them on your behalf. |
| External verification | Enter your registration or licence number so it can be verified. |
Understanding task states
Each task in your list will show one of the following states:
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not started | You have not opened this task yet. Click Start to begin. |
| In progress | You have started but not yet submitted the task. Click Continue to pick up where you left off. |
| Awaiting review | You have submitted the task, but it needs to be reviewed or verified by your employer or a third party. No further action is needed from you at this stage. |
| Complete | The task is finished. No further action is required. |
Note: Some tasks move to Awaiting review after you submit them. This is normal. Your employer or a verification service will process these in the background. You do not need to do anything further for those tasks.
Step 4: Finish onboarding
Once every task in your list is marked as Complete, your onboarding is finished. You will be taken to the main assureOS platform, where you can access your dashboard and begin working.
If some tasks are still in Awaiting review, you may need to wait for them to be processed before your onboarding is fully complete. Check back periodically to see if their status has changed.
Getting help
If you run into a problem at any point during onboarding, you can raise a support ticket directly from the platform.
- Click the Help link in the top right corner of the onboarding screen.
- You will be taken to the support request page.
- Enter a subject and a description of the issue you are experiencing.
- Click Submit.
Your support ticket will be reviewed by the assureOS team, and you will be contacted with a resolution. In the meantime, you can continue working on any other tasks that are available.
